Lent isn’t just about giving up chocolate or skipping a meal—it’s about freedom. True freedom. Jared Zimmerer gets into what self-discipline really means and why it’s so critical for men who want to be leaders in their families, their communities, and their faith.
He shares his own struggles with misplaced priorities, the eye-opening experience of encountering the story of Blessed Miguel Pro, and how a warrior’s mindset—rooted in Christ—can shape a man’s life. Drawing from Plato’s image of the charioteer and modern thinkers like Jocko Willink, Zimmerer lays out a path of asceticism that strengthens both body and soul. Through fasting, embracing silence, and committing to truth, men can reclaim their God-given mission to lead.
This talk is a challenge: Who will you become? Will you chase empty comforts, or will you train yourself—mind, body, and soul—for something greater?
