Matthew Christoff&rsquo;s new book says happiness for Catholic men starts with taking the Sunday Gospel seriously. He frames Jesus as the &ldquo;lion of Judah,&rdquo; and reads the Gospels as a sustained campaign to overthrow &ldquo;the kingdom of Satan,&rdquo; marked by constant threats, confrontation, and Christ&rsquo;s refusal to back down.&nbsp;
Christoff traces his own decade-long devotion project to helping his father through a slow death after 47 years of sobriety, then surviving a medical crisis that forced him to face his own near-death without flinching. He aims to help young men (and, if possible, priests) with tools to make Catholic masculinity a parish priority.

Living Christian Life Today w/ Pete Burak

C.S. Lewis wrote more than 30 books which have collectively sold over 100 million copies, including the Chronicles of Narnia series, Mere Christianity, and The Screwtape Letters. But of those thirty books, there was only one which Lewis described himself as "almost my favorite among my books," yet he was disappointed that "in general [the book] has been almost totally ignored by the public." The book was his prophetic text titled The Abolition of Man. It's an important book but one that many readers find dense and challenging. Thankfully, Michael Ward, one of the world's leading C.S. While all four levels of happiness are good, if we want a truly satisfying and peaceful life, we will want to focus on making a positive difference for others, the culture we live in, and the Kingdom of God.Even more, we will not try to ignore our desire for the transcendent. Ultimately, experiencing level four happiness requires us to follow God’s call to Himself by making a little leap of faith. If we do make this leap, God strengthens our relationship with Him through grace. And then we come to know in our hearts the most comforting truth of all: that true happiness does not depend on things we have, or how we compare to others, or on anything else temporary in this world, but comes from giving ourselves completely to God, who brings us to the perfectly loving home we yearn for.In this episode you will learn that ...■ Our view of happiness shapes what we are looking for in life.■ To transition out of a level one-two dominant life, we will need to change our fundamental attitudes on the purpose of our life, our view of others, our view of ourselves, and our view of freedom.■ Looking for the good in others makes it easier to empathize with them and looking for the good in ourselves helps us live up to our God-given potential.■ If we have the perspective of “freedom for” rather than “freedom from,” we will see that the constraint, self-discipline, and sacrifices of lower levels of happiness are worthwhile if they lead to level three and four happiness, making life more peaceful and satisfying.■ God wants us to freely choose Him, and calls us to Him in our hearts, as well as through a Church community, transcendent beauty, and philosophical and theological wisdom.■ We must choose to follow the call of the transcendent by making a little leap of faith.About Fr Spitzer: Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 16, 1952, Fr. Reconciliation of the Senses

Religious freedom, especially for Christians, is under attack across the globe, including in the West–including right here in the United States. Whether insidiously in the form of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs that block Christians from employment and advancement opportunities, or, overtly, like vandalism against churches, or, in some parts of the world, murderous violence against Christians themselves, in terms of sheer numbers–and this fact is often ignored–Christians are, by far, the most persecuted religious group in the world. While defending religious freedom is important for people of all faiths, or no faith at all, it is thus especially urgent for believers in Christ. Ambrose entered the monastery in 2000, made solemn profession in 2006, and was ordained a priest in 2008. He finished his priestly studies in Rome with pontifical degrees from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas and the Pontifical Gregorian University.
