Grewing up, I knew the world expected several things from me as a young black man. One of them was the assumption that I would be a lifelong Democrat. &nbsp;
&nbsp;And for a while, I obliged.&nbsp;
I was a huge cheerleader of Obama in 2008. I registered Democrat when I turned 18 in 2011. In college, I argued liberal viewpoints against my conservative friends. &nbsp;&nbsp;Even after college, I continued on this path of trying to persuade those around me that the Progressives had it right AND that their policies were more in line with Church teaching than those of the political right. &nbsp;&nbsp;
Well, all that changed. And today, I'm here to tell you why. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Integrity and Respect. We almost always look at integrity and respect in regards to our relationship to others. We desire the people we know, and even the people we don't know who know of us, to determine that we are people of integrity and worthy of their respect and admiration.&nbsp;
But what about self-respect? Violating your own integrity is more damaging, in many ways, to your view of yourself than the view others have of you.&nbsp;
The world today tells you to always accept yourself as you are. That you are perfect and wonderful and there's no need to strive for anything, no need to change.&nbsp;
But you know that's bullshit. So today we are talking about the need to face your fears. We're talking about avoiding things that you hate, the things that make you dislike yourself. Creating a life worth of respect, especially self-respect, requires both saying yes to the things we ought to do and no to the things we shouldn't do.&nbsp;

I recently had a friend of mine gracefully challenge me about a story I posted on Instagram which read "You cannot be Catholic and Pro-Choice". What I really meant was that you cannot be Catholic and pro-abortion, but I think that was sufficiently clear.&nbsp;
We often hear the more tolerant side of Christianity voice opinions that some of us are too judgmental and harsh on those who disagree with us on certain social and political issues. What many fail to realize is that at their core these issues are not simply about politics and society, but more importantly they are rooted in morality.&nbsp;
And morality matters. Our understanding of morality and our willingness to live in accordance with it ultimately determine the eternal destiny of our soul.&nbsp;
So are we too harsh on pro-abortion Christians? Can you really be Catholic and pro-choice? I share my answers to these questions in today's episode.&nbsp;

These sentiments have been spread far and wide as of late. We modern Americans love some victim mentality!! We love the option of just blaming privilege for another person&#39;s success, rather than taking accountability for our own lives. 
 
Are there some people who are genuinely sacrificing, working hard, and still unable to make ends meet on one income? Yes, there are. 
 
For the majority of college-educated Americans, however, the possibility of living on one income is much more in reach than they believe who lead others to believe. 
 
Most Americans don&#39;t budget. Most Americans spend wildly and choose not to save. Most Americans want to work less, not more. Most Americans expect a VERY high standard of living. 
 
Living on one income, for most of us, requires serious commitment and discipline. It is not for the weak or fainthearted. I will be sharing more and more on this topic from our personal experience to hopefully help and inspire those who are ready to pursue this ideal (and feel called to do so!)

She played basketball and softball in high school and also participated in archery. Present day, she serves in a role at Alvernia University - a private Franciscan university in Reading, Pennsylvania - where she works with the 38 varsity teams, including activities ranging from attending coaches meetings to praying with teams before practices and games, and joining the bus with teams to offer support and prayer. On behalf of Alvernia athletics she also serves on the Thoughtful Assessment Group, and her goal is to continue to expand her work with student-athletes and across campus in order to support and minister to as many students as possible.

The Psalms

She was the University of Dallas' first NCAA cross country two-time All-American. She holds the five thousand meter and ten thousand meter school records at the University of Dallas for track and field and the 5K and 6K school records for cross country. She was the only female NCAA Division III cross country All-American in the state of Texas in 2019 and 2021. She is headed to the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota to study for her master's degree in Theology, and she writes and authors Catholic children's books.

On a remarkable evening in Calgary, the Catholic community gathered for a joyous and family-friendly musical event, one that resonated with men, women, and children alike. This spiritually uplifting concert was a tribute to the power of faith expressed through music, offering a rich blend of tradition, talent, and devotion.
Held in honor of St. Joseph&mdash;the Patron Saint of Canada&mdash;the event brought together voices from across the Diocese of Calgary. Selected choirs from various parishes performed sacred music that echoed the dignity and strength of this holy figure. These harmonious offerings set the tone for an unforgettable evening of reverence and unity.
At the heart of the evening was the world premiere of an original musical setting of the Litany of St. Joseph. Composed and conducted by Alberta&rsquo;s own Carlos Foggin&mdash;an award-winning maestro known for his dynamic leadership&mdash;this debut was the crescendo of the night.
