Encouraged by their enthusiasm, he invited them to internalize three spiritual truths as they come of age. He was chosen by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft and spent time with four different organizations between then and 2009, to also include the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Lions. He went on to play for the United Football League's Florida Tuskers, leading them to a perfect regular season won-lost record and to the championship game and was named season MVP and came back to start for the Tuskers the next season. He went on to two high school football coaching jobs and was the quarterbacks coach at the University of Pittsburgh.  Back in his days as a student-athlete he was a four-year starting quarterback on a football scholarship to the University of Wisconsin, and in 2017 he was inducted into the University of Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame.  Listen for a powerful story in the second half of the show when he describes a professional opportunity and the sacrifice he made for family reasons.

Andrew Cozzens as the eighth bishop of the Diocese of Crookston on Oct. 18, 2021. He was installed on Dec. 6, 2021. Bishop Cozzens served as Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis from 2013 to 2021.

In the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Bishop Cozzens served as Vicar for Catholic Education and supervised the Archdiocesan Synod Process while overseeing the offices of Latino Ministry, Evangelization, and Marriage, Family and Life. He currently serves as the chair of the board for NET Ministries, St. Paul’s Outreach, The Institute for Priestly Formation and The Seminary Formation Council.

The BeatiDudes proudly welcome Jonathan J. Sanford, Ph.D., the 10th president of the University of Dallas. Dr. Sanford, who previously served as provost and dean of UD’s Constantin College of Liberal Arts and holds a doctorate in philosophy, is a noted scholar in virtue ethics. Dr. Sanford has published widely on philosophical figures and topics, especially in foundational questions in moral philosophy, as evidenced in “Before Virtue: Assessing Contemporary Virtue Ethics” (The Catholic University of America Press 2015). As provost, Dr. Sanford oversaw the development of a university-wide strategic plan, and as president, he is focused on leading its implementation by building on the university’s reputation for academic rigor, its commitment to classical Western tradition, and its faithful Catholic identity.During this episode, Dr. Sanford provides deep insight into the approach to formation and education philosophies of the University of Dallas. Philosophy of Humor

In the ascent towards holiness and happiness, a Catholic man must build the good habits (Virtue, from the Latin, vir, meaning “manliness, moral strength, goodness, valor”) of the moral life and break the bad habits (Vice, from the Latin, vitium, meaning “defect, offense, blemish, imperfection”) which cause him to fall into sin and risk losing his salvation. Daring great things is where leadership begins but leadership ends in the hearts of those that follow us.  Its not enough just to be doing things or doing them well, we have to do them in a way that other people can associate with and make it their own.  How do I make my great accomplishments a legacy that other people can benefit from?  We have to learn how to make our spirit come alive in the hearts of others.  Ironically, has to be concerned about his followers.

She grew up playing soccer from the age of 9 and played goalkeeper and striker for AC Premier, Croatia Cleveland, and Kirtland High School and was trained under some notable former U.S. national team players.  She also has received her youth futsal/indoor referee license from the U.S. Soccer Federation, and she served as the girls’ head soccer coach at Braves Soccer Academy for U9-U11 teams for two years.  She now partners with Ignite Athlete Training in Dallas, Texas, as a soccer trainer.
