Can Christians Lose Their Salvation?

When it comes to our secular lives, it is pretty easy to say what the goal is and how we are achieving it. But when it comes to living out the Faith, we are often times running aimlessly.  We chase other trophies. What are we doing and where are we going? 

In this episode you will hear John and Victor say : 
- If you have enough discipline & desire to buy a boat… are you also orienting that discipline & desire to prayer? 
- There is a veil over our eyes, thinking “I’ll deal with things later”. Sometimes there is no later. 
- We waste so much time being unintentional. 
- Conversion is constant. If we think we made it, we are in a dangerous place.

Are You Running Aimlessly?

Back when I worked as an apologist with Catholic Answers we received a lot of questions around this time of year. Perhaps the most common was, "are Sunday's excluded from Lent?" The answer is . . . are you ready for this? No. Sunday's are not excluded from Lent. According to the <a href="https://www.ewtn.com/library/CURIA/CDWLITYR.HTM">General Norms for the Liturgical Year and the Calendar</a>, "Lent runs from Ash Wednesday until the Mass of the Lord's Supper exclusive" (28). No exceptions are given for Sunday's during Lent. In fact, a couple of paragraphs later the GN says: "The Sundays of this season are called the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Sundays of Lent. The Sixth Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week, is called Passion Sunday (Palm Sunday)" (30). So there you have it. Now, does that mean that we cannot choose to allow ourselves the things we voluntarily gave up for lent? No, it doesn't. These voluntary fasts are personal devotions. Because they have been voluntarily taken up, we can choose to set them aside. That said, be awesome and sacrifice this Lent. What my P.E coach told me in middle-school applies to Lent also, "mate, if it's not hurting, you're not doing it right." Episode 1 - Jesus reveals the sobering reality of His Second Coming - Sunday Mass Prep - November 27, 2022 - Mt 24:37-44

Having just finished his studies at Xavier in New Orleans, Pradeep Thoppil started working at Tulane Medical Center shortly before Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. As a first-year pharmacist, he was eager to help the team and volunteered to join the pre-hurricane team. He had no idea that when he entered the hospital that day, he would not leave until six and a half days later.Pradeep, a self-proclaimed weather nerd, shares when he realized that Katrina had made a turn and headed straight for New Orleans. What happened next is a wild tale of triumphs, trials, and the heroic efforts of the team inside the medical center. Pradeep’s recounting of the race against time includes flooding, the quick decision to move medications to higher floors, praying for people outside the hospital windows after the doors had to be locked for safety, the loss of power, water, and their food supply, creating and protecting a makeshift pharmacy, relocating patients into hallways as the storm’s pressure made the walls breath and windows break, and eventually moving patients up many flights of stairs and out to the parking garage for rooftop evacuation. At one point, Pradeep considered leaving the hospital to meet his parents, which led to an honest conversation with God in which Pradeep realized he was being called to stay for the long haul. Despite the trials that ensued, Pradeep knew he had made the right decision. Sharing this story with The BeatiDudes was not easy for Pradeep, as it brings back many deep and difficult emotions. The Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at the University of Dallas, which is a Catholic institution. Prior to his current position he had spent a year-and-a-half working as the Program and Events Manager with Chicago Area Runners Association. He has a wealth of coaching experience that includes collegiate, high school, youth club, and adult levels for cross country and track and field. Overall, he has coached 25 USTFCCCA All-Americans, nine NJCAA All-Americans, and two Northern Athletics Conference All-Conference athletes. Miracles, Answered Prayer and Spiritual Warfare with Ryan Skoog

After perusing <a href= "http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/08/24/why-americas-nones-left-religion-behind/"> the latest Pew Study</a> on why young people are leaving the active practice of Christianity, Bishop Barron noticed that (once again) the reasons they offer for abandoning Christianity are entirely not compelling. That is to say, any theologian, apologist, or evangelist worth his salt should be able easily to answer these objections to faith and hopefully encourage the youngster to reconsider the Truth of the Church. He is the Vice President of Community Outreach for the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, having now worked for the team for 25 years. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 22 years, retiring as a Commander in 1997. He played football, basketball and baseball through his high school years and during his 22 years in the Coast Guard. He also coached basketball in military and youth leagues, and officiated basketball for 20 years. He serves on the boards of the King County Municipal League, Camp Patriot, and Empower Youth Network.
