In Vitro Fertilization
51m
A young married couple desperately wants to have children. They’ve tried to get pregnant for the past year and can’t. Their doctor recommends in vitro fertilization, which goes against the Church’s teaching. The couple is confused and somewhat angry at the Church for taking what they believe to be an “unreasonable” position. “After all,” the couple says, “We’re not like those couples who get married and don’t have kids. We want children! We’re good people, and will provide a warm and loving home.” Why does the Church insist on the immorality of in vitro fertilization? Deacon Harold answers this and more.
