In today's world, people are literally encouraged to divorce their spouse if they voted for a different candidate in the last presidential election. We are suffering from terrible division that is carefully crafted by politicians, the media, and the devil himself.&nbsp;
Sure, there are things we want to strongly agree on as Catholics and Christians, but is it possible to still disagree and ALSO get along and be friends? Jurell and I have proven that we can.&nbsp;
We have disagreed on things from how the Church shares teachings on same sex attraction to how we should respond to the pandemic. Each time we disagree, we engage in thoughtful discussion in which we truly seek to understand one another. Through this discourse, we almost always realize we agree on much more than we disagree on.&nbsp;
This has a great deal to teach us about evangelization, unity, and how we can heal our nation and Church. Check out today's episode to learn how YOU can start to create dialogue and build bridges with those who see the world differently than you.

Recently, I was on a flight and had the pleasure of making a new friend. After talking for a brief while, I learned that she was raised (somewhat) Catholic and had even gotten her two kids baptized in a Catholic Church.&nbsp;
However, she told me that she currently believes in the Universe, manifestation, and other "spiritual but not religious" types of things.&nbsp;
What's more, she also expressed her distaste for Capitalism and her position that she considers herself more of a Socialist.&nbsp;
As you can imagine, we had a great, in-depth conversation around a number of important topics.&nbsp;
In today's episode, I detail our conversation including things I learned I learned from her, things I taught her, and some general thoughts on how we can have civil conversations even when we disagree.&nbsp;

Choosing What to Sacrifice for Excellence

In the ascent towards holiness and happiness, a Catholic man must build the good habits (Virtue, from the Latin, vir, meaning “manliness, moral strength, goodness, valor”) of the moral life and break the bad habits (Vice, from the Latin, vitium, meaning “defect, offense, blemish, imperfection”) which cause him to fall into sin and risk losing his salvation.
