Chris McMahon established MFA Wealth to help clients with their personal wealth management and estate planning needs. Consequently, because Christ humbled Himself even to the death of the Cross, from love and obedience to God, it behooved Him to be uplifted by God to a glorious resurrection; hence it is said in His Person (Psalm 138:2): "Thou hast known," i.e. approved, "my sitting down," i.e. My humiliation and Passion, "and my rising up," i.e. My glorification in the resurrection; as the gloss expounds. Secondly, for our instruction in the faith, since our belief in Christ's Godhead is confirmed by His rising again, because, according to 2 Corinthians 13:4, "although He was crucified through weakness, yet He liveth by the power of God." And therefore it is written (1 Corinthians 15:14): "If Christ be not risen again, then is our preaching vain, and our [Vulgate: 'your'] faith is also vain": and (Psalm 29:10): "What profit is there in my blood?" that is, in the shedding of My blood, "while I go down," as by various degrees of evils, "into corruption?" As though He were to answer: "None. 'For if I do not at once rise again but My body be corrupted, I shall preach to no one, I shall gain no one,'" as the gloss expounds. Thirdly, for the raising of our hope, since through seeing Christ, who is our head, rise again, we hope that we likewise shall rise again. Hence it is written (1 Corinthians 15:12): "Now if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how do some among you say, that there is no resurrection of the dead?" And (Job 19:25-27): "I know," that is with certainty of faith, "that my Redeemer," i.e. Christ, "liveth," having risen from the dead; "and" therefore "in the last day I shall rise out of the earth . . . this my hope is laid up in my bosom." Fourthly, to set in order the lives of the faithful: according to Romans 6:4: "As Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life": and further on; "Christ rising from the dead dieth now no more; so do you also reckon that you are dead to sin, but alive to God." Fifthly, in order to complete the work of our salvation: because, just as for this reason did He endure evil things in dying that He might deliver us from evil, so was He glorified in rising again in order to advance us towards good things; according to Romans 4:25: "He was delivered up for our sins, and rose again for our justification."  - In the Bible, God uses periods of waiting to strengthen people’s wisdom so they can better accept His call.

Abiding in Hope

This episode is for anyone who feels like they’re silently carrying the weight of the world—brokenness, shame, or wounds you’ve never been able to share. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry it by yourself anymore.

Last weekend, the  @JPIIHealingCenter   hosted the first-ever Restored Men’s Healing Conference, and it was powerful. Men from all over the country (and even other countries!) showed up with open hearts, some for the very first time. These were men who had been silently suffering for years—dealing with wounds from abandonment, addiction, rejection, or just feeling like they’re not enough. Over the weekend, we watched God work in incredible ways as men opened up, shared their stories, and allowed Christ to step into those broken places. It was humbling and hopeful.

In this episode, Victor and I unpack some of the key takeaways from the conference and dive deep into the struggles many of us face but rarely talk about. We’ll cover why we feel like we need to hide our pain, how self-reliance is a trap, and most importantly, how God’s grace can reshape the broken parts of our lives.

BISHOP'S MESSAGE:
"My brothers in Christ, my name is Bishop Joe Coffey. I'm an auxiliary Bishop with the military Archdiocese, having served almost 20 years on active duty as a Navy chaplain with tours with the Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard. I am honored that the Catholic Men's Leadership Alliance has asked me to be their Episcopal moderator. They were formed just a few years ago and their mission is very simple: strengthen the man, strengthen the family, strengthen the church, and strengthen the culture.

There's no doubt in anybody's mind that we are in trouble right now. Our world is in trouble, our church is in trouble, our country is in trouble, but God has always raised up men to be leaders. Just think of the role he gave my patron saint, St Joseph, in Salvation history. His mission: protect the savior of the world and his blessed mother. Talk about a mission! And he did it with grace, and humility, and Faith. 

So men: in history, men have always loved their families, their wives, their kids, and their country, and will be willing to lay down their lives for them. Men love the church, men love the Lord, and love to pray. So join other men from around our country with the Catholic Men's Leadership Alliance, and help them help you, and help other men to be the men God created all of us to be.

BISHOP COFFEY'S BIO
Bishop Coffey's bio reads like a military ops report. Born in '60, raised in Philly, this man has been hustling since day one. Double major at La Salle University, ski instructor in Switzerland, and even revving it in the auto industry in Germany and Belgium.

But that's just the prelude. Fast forward to '96, and he's not just Father Coffey anymore; he's Navy Chaplain Coffey. Ensign status, serving on active duty assignments six global locations, even deploying to the Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan. 

Medals? Plenty.  He’s been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars, and many  more. This man's the real deal, a spiritual warrior with the grit of a Navy lifer.

We're talking about a leader who's been everywhere from the South Pacific to the Arabian Gulf, and now he's on a new mission with us. Now, Bishop Coffey's reported for duty as the incoming Episcopal Moderator for CMLA, effective December 18, 2023. 

This is more than an extra command post; it's a heroic, spiritual call to arms. As our Episcopal Moderator, he will provide spiritual and apostolic guidance to help keep our mission focused on serving Jesus and His Church.

[Muhammad] seduced the people by promises of carnal pleasure to which the concupiscence of the flesh goads us. His teaching also contained precepts that were in conformity with his promises, and he gave free rein to carnal pleasure. In all this, as is not unexpected, he was obeyed by carnal men. As for proofs of the truth of his doctrine, he brought forward only such as could be grasped by the natural ability of anyone with a very modest wisdom. Indeed, the truths that he taught he mingled with many fables and with doctrines of the greatest falsity. He did not bring forth any signs produced in a supernatural way, which alone fittingly gives witness to divine inspiration; for a visible action that can be only divine reveals an invisibly inspired teacher of truth. On the contrary, Muhammad said that he was sent in the power of his arms—which are signs not lacking even to robbers and tyrants. What is more, no wise men, men trained in things divine and human, believed in him from the beginning, Those who believed in him were brutal men and desert wanderers, utterly ignorant of all divine teaching, through whose numbers Muhammad forced others to become his followers by the violence of his arms. Nor do divine pronouncements on the part of preceding prophets offer him any witness. On the contrary, he perverts almost all the testimonies of the Old and New Testaments by making them into fabrications of his own, as can be. seen by anyone who examines his law. It was, therefore, a shrewd decision on his part to forbid his followers to read the Old and New Testaments, lest these books convict him of falsity. This seemed strange to me, but he did have a good point. The main idea was that we should strive to love God and the person in front of us above all else, including the pursuit of theological knowledge. 
It&#39;s easy to get to a place where you know ABOUT God but don&#39;t really know God in today&#39;s age of information. But is telling people to be a dumb Catholic really the solution the issues of our time?

S2-Case #16- "A Mother's Love"- PT 1

In our society today, the most divisive and extreme outlets get the most clicks and views. Ridiculous opinions are the best route to popularity. This doesn&#39;t only apply to political commentators. It also applies within the Church. 
It always saddens me that the non-Catholic world typically encounters two extremes of Catholicism. On the one hand, you have progressive Catholics like Fr. James Martin, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and the like. On the other hand, you have the ultra-trad conservatives who preach endless negativity and a standard based on preferences disguised as requirements for holiness. 
The sad reality I&#39;ve come to see as a content creator is that these two extreme groups have the easiest path to gaining support for their content. I&#39;ve found this to be pretty discouraging. 
In today&#39;s episode, I share some of my experiences and some recent things that I&#39;ve come across that support these distinctions.
