Responding to Transgenderism With Truth and Mercy w/ Jason Evert

You don't have to look around long to see that the world needs Catholics that are willing to boldly live their faith. Unfortunately, many of us can often find ourselves retreating back into the comfort and safety of those like us. While there is nothing wrong with surrounding ourselves with like minded people, we must never close the door to those in need or become uninviting to the unchurched. Jesus never said you are not welcome in my group or at my table and neither should we. Listen in this week as John and Victor discuss the importance of fighting the urge to retreat back into the comfort and safety of the initiated while challenging us to become the missionary disciples we are called to be. It's time to get uncomfortable.

Kevin Matthews shares a talk crafted (for the first time) for men. Men carry wounds, wounds we often ignore. Many of us assume these wounds don’t make us worthy. But Kevin hopes to give us a new story. A story where we, as sons of the Father, are broken, yes. Broken, but loved. And that makes every difference in the world. 

Members joined this event, and then headed into breakout rooms to chat with small clusters of men. During our ‘Return to the Father’ event, one attendee said ‘it was PURE FIRE’.

On this week's episode John welcomes David Hall, one of his closest friends, to discuss the importance of authentic friendship. The two of them discuss the need for genuine connections and the impact it can have on a man's life and his faith. They share personal stories of their friendship and how it has made them better men. John and David encourage us to be open and willing to invest time in building meaningful relationships with others. They also discuss the importance of finding common ground and being vulnerable with one another.

Father ... who is “rich in mercy” (Ephesians 2:4). Men have struggled to live their noble calling “from the beginning.” We are struggling to live it now.

A certain darkness has once more descended upon the world. Two thousand years ago, the light of Christ came to abide in Nazareth. We must take a moment to carefully consider Nazareth. We must consider the life of St. Joseph at Nazareth.

The pathway to fulfilling the vision of the man were created to be is simple … it’s just not easy! Therefore, you need to travel the journey with other men. It has been amazing what TMIY men have accomplished together!

The Catholic church has always taught that work was genuinely a human activity.  Meaning that it was something that we did that made our lives better.  But with the increase of technology, social media, and the changing demographics of the work force, work itself seems to be a different kind of experience.  Nevertheless, the truth about work hasn’t changed.  And God’s vision for work laid out in the Bible remains the same.  This is a Christian advantage.  By letting the truth of our faith inform our leadership Christians protect and enhance the working environment for all involved.

Mannion is a pioneer in the field of post-abortion healing, having authored some of the first and finest books on the topic, including Abortion and Healing – A Cry to Be Whole (1986). He has conducted training for clergy and lay professionals throughout the world on this topic. His work has helped to develop the Church’s understanding of the wounds abortion brings and of the path to healing. His ministry inspired Dr. Theresa Burke to focus on the topic of healing after abortion and to develop the Rachel’s Vineyard retreat program, now the world’s largest ministry for post abortion healing. Msgr. Mannion is now developing a new line of thought linking the path of healing with the traditional schools of spirituality in the Church.  Msgr. Mannion has served as a Cable News Network commentator for the funeral of Mother Teresa, with whom he had the privilege of working. His many other media appearances include Meet the Press, the Charlie Rose Show, and MSNBC. He holds advanced degrees in theology, Scripture, and youth ministry. His work also involved ministering to law enforcement personnel and their families, and in that arena has been able to apply his insights into healing the wounds of trauma.  Msgr.
