Sometimes life is easy and sometimes life comes at us like a ton of bricks, with obstacles we can't seem to overcome. Our perspective can get distorted because we are stuck in the moment. When this happens it's important to remember that God has a plan for you and it is not a short-term plan. He has an eternal vision. Meditate this week on the reality that God has an eternal vision for you. If we maintain an eternal perspective nothing will seem too big for us.

Eternal Vision

Whether we are leading a family or a business, all leaders have to do things they don’t want to do.  As soon as we assume the mantle of leadership we assume the mantle of facing things that could hurt us – that could take valuable time away, valuable resources away or even inflict pain at different levels of our life.  This means that leaders have to be brave.  St. Thomas Aquinas describes the virtue of bravery as fortitude and this third of the cardinal virtues is what we are focusing on today.

The Need for Refuge

He is also an Associate Professor of Theology at the Augustine Institute Graduate School. 

He previously served as Director of the Denver Catholic Biblical School and Catechetical School in the Archdiocese of Denver helping grow it into the largest and most comprehensive diocesan Bible study program in the United States. He received his doctorate in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Italy where he studied for five years while also directing an undergraduate study abroad program with his wife.  He and his wife are blessed with three daughters and two sons.

He had even assigned umpires for the Rebel Spring Games, which is the longest-running spring collegiate program in the nation. So you are probably asking how? How can I change the world? You unlock your power to change the world by becoming a saint. All of us are called to be saints.

We accomplish this by drawing closer to God in prayer, the Sacraments, and reading scripture. If we do these three fundamental things we will find ourselves growing in holiness and changing the world. It begins by saying "yes" to God on a daily basis. Will you say "yes" today?

In 2021, John and his wife received the diagnosis during their 5th pregnancy that their baby boy had Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) - - a rare congenital heart defect that prevents the left side of the heart from developing properly during pregnancy. Jack was born in November of 2021 and passed three weeks later. Listening to John speak about the emotional and physically challenging journey of welcoming Jack and then saying goodbye to him soon after is an experience you won’t want to miss. John’s love for family and trust in God serves as a witness to the love that can only be experienced through Christ.
