What Women Don't Understand About Men

Fr. Kevin Kolker, the youngest of four siblings, including The BeatiDude's very own Paul Kolker, serves as the Parochial Vicar at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. This episode covers the arch of Fr. Kevin’s life journey to the priesthood. Fr. Kevin grew up in Coppell, Texas, and attended St. Ann Catholic Parish. He went to school at St. Luke in Irving before entering high school at Jesuit Dallas, where he learned about being a man for others and doing all things for the great glory of God. He attended Texas A&amp;M University, where he received degrees in both Mathematics and Philosophy before a short stint in corporate America. Despite his efforts to run from the Lord’s call, Fr. Kevin came to understand that God wanted him to be a diocesan priest. He then completed his philosophy studies at Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas before going to Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans to study theology from 2018-2023. Fr. Kevin was ordained a priest on May 20th, 2023, alongside 7 other men in the Diocese of Dallas. John Henry Spann is a Catholic husband and a father to five children, who he lives with on his farm in the southern Appalachians. He has worked in secondary education at all levels from football coach to principal. Fr. Ken Geraci lived the life of the prodigal son for most of his young adult life. Raised in a nominally Catholic family, who only lived the externals of the faith, Fr. Ken left the Catholic Church for many years. During that time, he earned a business degree and worked as a business professional in Advanced R&amp;D and software testing. During this journey, God presented him with challenges that forced him to question his personal beliefs and the question, “What is Truth?” Through a series of conversions, years of struggle, study, and questioning, Fr. Ken found his way from agnosticism to non-denominational Christianity, and ultimately back to the Catholic Church. Fr. Ken joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006 and was ordained in 2012. Fr. Ken has a great understanding of the personal and societal pressures that individuals face and knows what it is like to “hate coming to church.” His mission talks are for people of all levels of faith, from those who are madly in love with Jesus to those who struggle with church and religion.In this episode, the BeatiDudes joke with Fr. Ken about the first time he considered the priesthood after it was suggested to him by his date.
