C2six is a former gangsta rapper turned Christian rapper. After success as a secular rapper he had a conversion experience in 2007 at an all-ages concert in which he vowed to give up gangsta rap and dedicate his time and talent to God. Initially, he denounced his Catholic upbringing, considering himself to be a non-denominational Protestant Christian. After a 2 year break from music in order to study his Christian faith, he was compelled back to the Catholic Church. The music he was creating was cultured towards Catholicism, but there were not many other Catholics on the Christian rap scene. In a search for other Catholic hip-hop artists, C2six linked up with Nico Santana and S.M1ND in 2010 then John Levi and Val Mural in 2012 forming the group FoundNation. C2six and FoundNation have performed and spoken to young people throughout the United States. Canada and Mexico as well as the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Panama City, Panama. C2six has released multiple albums and two documentaries as a Christian hip-hop artist. He has been featured on EWTN’s Journey Home with Marcus Grodi and Life On The Rock; Sirius XM Radio’s Jennifer Fulwiler Show and Conversations With Cardinal Dolan; and Shalom World TV’s Beats and Jesus My Savior. C2six resides in Fort Worth, Texas.

WOF 361: What's Our Church's Growth Strategy?

Kyle Washut is the youngest Catholic president at the youngest Catholic college in America. Kyle, President at Wyoming Catholic College (WCC), joins The BeatiDudes for an adventurous episode full of surprises, including the unique approach that WCC takes to educating and forming its students. WCC is a “great books school” where every student starts their freshmen year by spending several weeks in the wilderness. They all receive the same degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts. In addition to spending a semester on horseback, the entire student body memorizes a repertoire of poems and songs that unite them in the classroom and around the campfire. Kyle, a Wyoming native, has been with WCC since its inception. Growing up in Casper, Wyoming, he worked in nuclear missile silos and coal mines during his teenage years, receiving an AA in Political Science and a second in Spanish from Casper College in 2003. While in Casper, he studied under two of WCC’s eventual founders, Dr. Robert Carlson and Fr. Robert Cook. He began his journey toward Wyoming Catholic by serving as a dishwasher at the annual Wyoming School for Catholic Thought, where the idea for the College was first proposed.He graduated from Thomas Aquinas College in 2007 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and returned to Wyoming (and Wyoming Catholic) as the inaugural Assistant Dean for Student Life—a position he held until departing in the Fall of 2009 to pursue a graduate degree in Sacred Theology from Austria’s International Theological Institute (ITI). While in Austria, he continued to work for the College, coordinating its inaugural high-school (PEAK) and adult education (WSCT) summer programs, before returning as a full-time professor in early 2012. Washut has taught across the College’s curriculum since his return—theology and philosophy, as well as her distinctive Trivium and Humanities courses. In addition to serving as Visiting Associate Professor of Patristics and Ecclesiastical History at St. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh, he has worked closely with a number of the College’s Administrative offices, including Admissions, Advancement, and the Outdoor Leadership Program (OLP). Fr. Kevin Kolker, the youngest of four siblings, including The BeatiDude's very own Paul Kolker, serves as the Parochial Vicar at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Thorns in the Flesh: The Battle for Faith and Manhood in a Modern World

In a recent article for The Atlantic, David Brooks claims <a href= "https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/03/the-nuclear-family-was-a-mistake/605536/">“The Nuclear Family Was a Mistake.”</a> He contends that the model of a married couple with 2.5 kids was an anomaly in the 1950s and 1960s, and that this nuclear family model is no longer working for many Americans, especially those who are less privileged. To address this family crisis, Brooks argues we need to break out of the nuclear-family-is-best mindset and “thicken and broaden” family relationships by incorporating extended families and “families of choice” (e.g., friends, co-religionists, and other voluntary groups living together) as better ways to raise children. Reverence Theory and the Age of St. Joseph

It's been widely hailed as the greatest sermon ever preached and a masterpiece of religious and social ethics. Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew 5-7, commences with the "beatitudes", a series of eight blessings that Jesus gives to those who suffer, mourn, and express purity of heart. That there is a marital debt to be paid
As the slave is in the power of his master, so is one spouse in the power of the other (1 Cor. 7:4). But a slave is bound by an obligation of precept to pay his master the debt of his service according to Rom. 13:7, Render … to all men their dues, tribute to whom tribute is due, etc. Therefore husband and wife are mutually bound to the payment of the marriage debt.[1]

Whether the Husband is bound to pay the debt even if his wife does not ask for it?
I answer that, The debt may be demanded in two ways. First, explicitly, as when they ask one another by words; secondly, implicitly, when namely the husband knows by certain signs that the wife would wish him to pay the debt, but is silent through shame. And so even though she does not ask for the debt explicitly in words, the husband is bound to pay it, whenever his wife shows signs of wishing him to do so.[2]
WHETHER HUSBAND AND WIFE ARE EQUAL IN THE MARRIAGE ACT?[3]
I answer that, Equality is twofold, of quantity and of proportion. Equality of quantity is that which is observed between two quantities of the same measure, for instance a thing two cubits long and another two cubits in length. But equality of proportion is that which is observed between two proportions of the same kind as double to double. Accordingly, speaking of the first equality, husband and wife are not equal in marriage; neither as regards the marriage act, wherein the more noble part is due to the husband, nor as regards the household management, wherein the wife is ruled and the husband rules. But with reference to the second kind of equality, they are equal in both matters, because just as in both the marriage act and in the management of the household the husband is bound to the wife in all things pertaining to the husband, so is the wife bound to the husband in all things pertaining to the wife. It is in this sense that it is stated in the text (iv. Sent. D. 32) that they are equal in paying and demanding the debt.[4]
WHETHER HUSBAND AND WIFE CAN TAKE A VOW CONTRARY TO THE MARRIAGE DEBT WITHOUT THEIR MUTUAL CONSENT?[5]
I answer that, no.
WHETHER IT IS FORBIDDEN TO DEMAND THE DEBT ON HOLY DAYS?[6]
I answer that, Although the marriage act is void of sin, nevertheless since it oppresses the reason on account of the carnal pleasure, it renders man unfit for spiritual things. Therefore, on those days when one ought especially to give one’s time to spiritual things, it is not lawful to ask for the debt.[7]
WHETHER IT IS A MORTAL SIN TO ASK FOR THE DEBT AT A HOLY TIME?[8]
I answer that, To ask for the debt on a feast day is not a circumstance drawing a sin into another species; wherefore it cannot aggravate infinitely. Consequently a wife or husband does not sin mortally by asking for the debt on a feast day. It is however a more grievous sin to ask for the sake of mere pleasure, than through fear of the weakness of the flesh.[9]
WHETHER ONE SPOUSE IS BOUND TO PAY THE DEBT TO THE OTHER AT A FESTAL TIME?[10]
I answer that, Since the wife has power of her husband’s body, and vice versa, with regard to the act of procreation, the one is bound to pay the debt to the other, at any season or hour, with due regard to the decorum required in such matters, for this must not be done at once openly.[11]

Friends, a <a href= "https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2019/08/05/transubstantiation-eucharist-u-s-catholics/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">recent study from the Pew Research Center</a> found that nearly seven-in-ten Catholics (69%) believe that during Mass, the bread and wine used in communion “are symbols of the body and blood of Jesus Christ.” Only one-third of U.S. Catholics believe in the doctrine of transubstantiation, which says the bread and wine actually become the body and blood of Jesus. This is a spiritual crisis, and in response, the United States bishops have launched a three-year Eucharistic revival to help Catholics understand the truth and beauty of this sacrament. Spokane Bishop Thomas Daly is urging Catholic voters in Washington state to oppose a proposed law that would order priests to violate the seal of confession in cases where child abuse is revealed during the sacrament. 
The bill, proposed in both houses of the state Legislature, would amend state law to require clergy to report instances of child abuse with no exemption for instances where the abuse is learned during the sacrament of penance.
