Does the Bible teach "Mutual Submission" between husband and wife? | Ep 260
1h 18m

According to many modern-day Catholics, the Bible's instruction for husbands and wives is to be mutually submissive to one another.

I had heard this interpretation of Ephesians 5 numerous times. Having actually read the entire book of Ephesians multiples times myself, I was always perplexed at how we came to these conclusions.

One problem many Catholics have is being guilty of what Protestants accuse us of the most: not reading the Bible.

If you've read the New Testament, it's hard to understand the direction for husbands and wives as anything close to mutual submission in the way it's often explained today.

In this episode, we will take a deeper look at what Scripture, the Church fathers, and some doctors of the Church have to say about mutual submission.
