Last week on Instagram, I created a lot of buzz as I used real life examples of the cost of housing, Catholic education, and other costs as to why that number is much closer to $175k for a Catholic family in Denver.
And that's in 2025. Life tends to only get more expensive, typically at around 2-4% per year. As we all learned over the last four years, that rate of increase can be MUCH higher than that.
In today's episode of the Seeking Excellence podcast, I take a look at these numbers not just in the present, but what I anticipate the cost of living will be 10-15 years from now.
The rising costs here in Denver (and everywhere) are the number one reason why my wife and I are moving from Colorado this summer.
If we make a strong income but can barely afford to live here now, what are the chances our kids will be able to in 30 years? We love it here. We love the weather, the beauty, and the many great relationships we've formed over the last four years.
Moving for lower cost of living is a tough decision I know many people are considering. I hope that today's episode can bring some peace and clarity to the decision for some and give others some things to consider!
Spoiler alert: life will be very expensive when us millennials have kids in high school 🫤
