Spokane Bishop Thomas Daly is urging Catholic voters in Washington state to oppose a proposed law that would order priests to violate the seal of confession in cases where child abuse is revealed during the sacrament. 
The bill, proposed in both houses of the state Legislature, would amend state law to require clergy to report instances of child abuse with no exemption for instances where the abuse is learned during the sacrament of penance.

According to the USCCB website, the Synod on Synodality: <ul><li>The Synod on Synodality is a two-year process of listening and dialogue beginning with a solemn opening in Rome on October 9 and 10, 2021 with each individual diocese and church celebrating the following week on October 17. The synodal process will conclude in 2023. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to reflect on a theme that is decisive for its life and mission: “It is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the Church of the third millennium.” This journey, which follows in the wake of the Church’s “renewal” proposed by the Second Vatican Council, is both a gift and a task: by journeying together and reflecting together on the journey that has been made, the Church will be able to learn through Her experience which processes can help Her to live communion, to achieve participation, to open Herself to mission.</li></ul>In short, the Church is inviting lay people to give their input on how the Church can improve in various aspects. In this episode, Ryan and James specifically talk about the topics relating to the Church mission and the Church celebration in relation to Mass. Ep 160 - Your Vocation is Not An Obstacle, But Your Path to Holiness

Many Catholics don’t realize that the Bible as we know it today was compiled by the Catholic Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. For the first 400 years of Christianity, believers didn’t have personal copies of Scripture. Instead, they learned the faith through oral tradition and the teaching authority of the Church. This is why sola scriptura—the idea that Scripture alone is all we need—is false. We need Sacred Tradition and the Church’s authority to rightly interpret the Word of God. Without these, confusion and division take hold.Fr. Dom also emphasized that reading Scripture should not be passive—it should stir our souls. When the Jewish people in Nehemiah’s time heard the Word of God proclaimed, they stood in reverence, recognizing its holiness. That’s why we stand when the Gospel is read at Mass! Day 1 - St. Joseph's Radical Trust: How to Conquer Fear and Lead Like a Man

Have you all tried to ask for a raise? Maybe you have played sports in the past and had a big competition on the horizon? Or maybe you were actually in the military on deployment. Whatever the case might be, you prepared for it, didn’t you? You studied your competition. What makes them tick? What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses? How can I come out on top?You knew your enemy. Now, of course, your boss isn’t your enemy. Nor is the other team or competition you faced. The actual enemy, is Satan. Whether you know it or not, Satan is coming for you. There is a competition for your soul between Jesus and the devil. “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. Day 11 - St. Joseph’s Sword: Becoming a Zealous Defender of Christ

&quot;A family that prays together stays together.&quot; How often have we heard this saying? How often do we roll our eyes and think to ourselves, &quot;oh gosh, here we go again!&quot; Don&apos;t be ashamed men, I used to think the same thing. The fact is the healthy do not need a doctor, but the sick. And men, unfortunately, we are all sick. Thankfully, Jesus, the Great Physician, gives us an antidote to our illness...prayer! St. Vincent de Paul summarizes prayer perfectly when he states, &quot;Give me a man of prayer and he will be capable of everything. He may say with the apostle, “I can do all things in him who strengthens me.”  Prayer transforms us. God does not need our prayers. God knows everything already. Prayer is for us, gentlemen. Without prayer, we have no captain driving our ship. Prayer is what keeps us grounded and humble to recognize how great God is and how minuscule we are.
