Every year since 1981 a tournament has taken place to promote high school baseball in Hillsborough County (Tampa, Florida area). It was first established as a memorial for Tony Saladino, Sr. and has grown from eleven public schools to now a 32-team event, with 38 players that have participated in the tournament having gone on to play in the Major Leagues, 12 of which were first round draft picks. So you are probably asking how? How can I change the world? You unlock your power to change the world by becoming a saint. All of us are called to be saints.

We accomplish this by drawing closer to God in prayer, the Sacraments, and reading scripture. If we do these three fundamental things we will find ourselves growing in holiness and changing the world. It begins by saying "yes" to God on a daily basis. Will you say "yes" today?

In 2021, John and his wife received the diagnosis during their 5th pregnancy that their baby boy had Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) - - a rare congenital heart defect that prevents the left side of the heart from developing properly during pregnancy. Jack was born in November of 2021 and passed three weeks later. Listening to John speak about the emotional and physically challenging journey of welcoming Jack and then saying goodbye to him soon after is an experience you won’t want to miss. John’s love for family and trust in God serves as a witness to the love that can only be experienced through Christ. John and his wife were blessed to conceive two more children after Jack’s passing; the first passed in the womb, and the second is a spry toddler, bringing light and life to the family daily.
